Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Dr. Doran was a lifelong athlete whose passion for sports led him to the University of Wisconsin, where he competed on the track and field team. After a sports injury and a life-changing visit to Colorado, he transferred to Colorado State University in Fort Collins. There, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition with a minor in Exercise Physiology. While at CSU he began competing in triathlons, eventually completing an Ironman triathlon—cementing his lifelong interest in health, performance, and rehabilitation.
It was during this time that Dr. Doran discovered chiropractic care. Debilitating shoulder pain was disrupting his training and sleep until chiropractic treatment helped him recover quickly and naturally—without medications or surgery. Inspired by the deep connections between chiropractic, anatomy, nutrition, and physiology, he went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he made the Dean’s List and served as a graduate teaching assistant.
